Philip Nemy "has been there / done that" when he advises film students on the When, Where, Who, How and What of pursuing a career in Hollywood in his new book, GET A REEL JOB!

A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Nemy had his eye on a shining career in Tinsel Town, while earning his BFA in acting at Carnegie Mellon University. During college he discovered directing, and became the Resident Assistant Director at The Hartman Theater, an Equity Regional Theater located in Stamford, CT. He went on to work on over forty Equity and Non-Equity productions as an actor, stage manager and director. In 1984 Nemy decided it was time to move into film and television, so he relocated to Los Angeles.

Starting at the bottom as a P.A. on 5 game-show pilots for Columbia Pictures Television, Nemy's career path continued as he rose to the position of Assistant Production Manager. He moved on when an opportunity to work with Robert Greenwald, at MGM/UA, was presented to him. He could now round out his career, and learn the business end of producing and directing motion pictures for television. After being cast in one of Greenwald's films, "ON FIRE," he joined the Screen Actors Guild.

In 1987 Nemy jumped at the opportunity to work at Walt Disney Pictures & Television as a Senior Staff Supervisor, leading to a position as Associate Production Executive two years later. It was obvious that the business end of film and television was where he belonged. He moved up the ladder to become one of the production executives' in charge on such projects as: "BITTER DUEL," "CONSENTING ADULTS," "EVITA," "GUILTY AS SIN," "HOMEWARD BOUND II," "JUDGE DREDD," "IN THE ARMY NOW" AND "SWING KIDS."

Nemy advanced to the position of Executive Production Manager in 1994, and Vice-President of Production in 1998, with the prestigious Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group, working on dozens of Disney productions and such box office smashes as; "ARMAGEDDON," "CON AIR," "CIVIL ACTION," "ENEMY OF THE STATE," "REMEMBER THE TITANS," and "THE PRINCESS DIARIES." In 2001, he departed Disney forming Angel's Touch Productions to produce the Intermedia Film "PANCAKES AND UNDERWEAR" with Garry Marshall. He is currently developing the films "VOICES," "XTREME TEENS," and the mini-series, "REVOLUTION."

Phil Nemy is a dedicated and passionate mentor in the truest sense! He lectures regularly at Carnegie Mellon University, and has conducted a series of seminars to guide film students at UNC-Chapel Hill, North Carolina State, Duke University, Independent Feature Project West Producers Group, and man others. Nemy has also appeared as a guest speaker on the Los Angeles-based syndicated talk-radio program; "The Heart of Hollywood" with Joe Sutton.
